CRASAC counsellors offer a safe, confidential and non-judgmental space to all genders 18 years and older who have experienced any form of rape or sexual violence at any time in their lives. Counselling can also be provided to parents/carers/partners and supporters of survivors. Counselling provides a space/opportunity for survivors to explore and work through their experiences of sexual violence. Survivors who have had counselling have spoken of the importance of being believed, heard, accepted and understood by the counsellor.
CRASAC counsellors will never pressure you into talking about anything you do not wish to. The focus of the sessions is on what you choose to bring. The effects of the abuse may not always be obvious for many years after the event. Counselling cannot make the abuse go away, but it will enable you to work through your thoughts and feelings so that you can acknowledge what happened and live with it as a part of your life, without being overwhelmed or controlled by it. Counselling is available 9am - 5pm Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays, and 9am - 8pm on Mondays and Thursdays. Please call our Helpline on 024 76 277777 to book an initial appointment.
