Working with CRASAC.

CRASAC provides counselling, advocacy, and support for children, young people, and adults affected by sexual violence.

We work in partnership with professionals to ensure referrals are handled safely, appropriately, and with care.

What to expect for professionals.

A safe, specialist service for your clients.

Once a referral is received:

  • Their needs are assessed in a safe, supportive way

  • They are matched with appropriate support, which may include counselling or advocacy

  • They are supported at a pace that feels safe for them

We prioritise safety, choice, and trauma-informed care throughout.

How professionals can support.

Supporting safe and effective referrals

Professionals play a key role in ensuring individuals feel safe and supported.

You can help by:

  • Creating a calm, non-judgemental space for disclosure

  • Using clear, supportive language

  • Respecting autonomy and choice

  • Avoiding pressure or re-traumatisation

  • Clearly explaining referral options

Small changes in approach can make a significant difference.

Clear and safe boundaries.

We follow strict confidentiality and safeguarding procedures.

Information is only shared:

  • With consent, where appropriate

  • Where there is a safeguarding concern

  • In line with legal and professional obligations

We aim to be transparent, safe, and respectful in all communications.

Collaborative, joined-up support.

We work closely with professionals across:

  • Health services

  • Education

  • Social care

  • Community organisations

  • Police services

Where appropriate, we maintain communication to support coordinated, trauma-informed care.

Our shared goal is safe, effective support for every individual.
