How we support you.

Reaching out for support can feel like a big step. We will meet you where you are, and you will never be expected to do anything you are not ready for.

You remain in control of your choices throughout.

What to expect.

You can make a referral when you feel ready.

There is no right time to reach out — whether something happened recently or a long time ago.

Step 1: Getting in touch.

Step 2: We listen and understand.

After your referral, we will usually arrange a telephone assessment with one of our trained practitioners.

This is a chance to talk about what you need and explore what support may be helpful for you.

You will not be asked to share details of what has happened unless you want to.

Step 3: Welcome Session.

You will be invited to a Welcome Session.

This is a gentle introduction to the support available and may include:

  • information about trauma and its impact

  • coping and grounding strategies

  • an overview of your support options

You will not be expected to talk about your experiences, and there is no pressure to share anything personal.

After your Welcome Session, you will be supported to choose the type of support that feels right for you.

This may include counselling, group support, or advocacy depending on your needs.

What is important to know:

  • You do not need to have told anyone before contacting us

  • You will not be pressured to share details

  • Everything is confidential, unless there is a safeguarding concern

You can take things at your own pace

Step 4: Choosing your support.

You are in control…

Heard.

Believed.

Safe.

Accepted.
