As tackling sexual violence is a government priority, as highlighted in the following, it is crucial the local authorities work in partnership to achieve a service provision for victims of sexual violence:
Following such priorities the ISVA service was initially funded as a pilot scheme for six months by the Home Office. Since this the funding has been extended until November 2007. The service is a much needed and long-awaited service that many within the area of sexual violence have striven to obtain.
As ISVA’s we have recognised the benefits of this service much like our colleagues, and are very positive about the advocacy, information, emotional & practical support that we as the ISVA service provides to survivors of sexual violence.
In striving to provide the best possible service to our clients we have endeavoured to make links with many agencies, organisations and services within the field as part of providing an optimal service to our clients. Many contacts have been made with this in mind and are detailed overleaf. By maintaining these contacts and in conjunction with the ISVA role, survivors of sexual violence have and continue to receive a much needed and supportive service.
